Food Choices at Functions

If functions are a part of your life I encourage you to set up some golden rules for managing your food intake

It is not good enough to eat well at home and then make poor food choices at functions

Try these tips:

1. Eat before you go,take the edge off your appetite by having a low fat cappuccino, diet instant soup(99% fat free cup a soup)

even an apple will take the edge off your hunger and help stop you overindulging in the food.

2. Avoid battered, fried and crumbed food-it usually tastes horrible and is deadly for your waist line

A snack sized sausage roll contains 200 calories and a mini quiche 250 calories!

3. Do not stand near the food-keep away from the dips, cheese platters and keep one hand on a drink(not necessarily alcohol!) and the other in your pocket

4. Heed last weeks advice and eat a good lunch-arriving starved will only increase your chances of making poor food choices

5. Choose instead seafood (natural not fried), kebab skewers, bruschetta, and olives in small quantities!

6. Stay away from the bread served with the meal-choose the main course that is the simplest-a lean fillet of meat, fish, poultry served with greens and a salad-no chips!

Don't waste your calories –only ever chose great tasting foods-often function food is just not worth the calories
