Nursing Staff

Wendy, Kristinaj, Margaret and Jill. Absent: Jenny Giddens Our nursing staff play a vital role in the high quality medical care provided at Medicine On Second. They maintain their knowledge and skills through their commitment to ongoing nursing education.

They run our treatment room efficiently and help our patients in many ways, including wound care, childhood immunisation, medical testing, health assessments, asthma and diabetes education. They also ensure that the highest standards of patient care and infection control are maintained.

Bronwyn Higgins (RN)
Bronwyn has been with the practice since March 2005. She has many years experience in medical and surgical nursing, and has also trained in midwifery.

She has lived on the Sunshine Coast most of her life, and last worked at the Sunshine Coast Private Hospital.

Her professional areas of interest include diabetes and preventative health, and she enjoys attending a variety of ongoing education activities. In time off, give her a garden and a good book and visits with extended family, and she'll be happy!

 

Wendy Bishop (EEN) 
Wendy has been nursing for about 12 years. She qualified in Toowoomba and completed practical training at Caboolture Hospital.

Wendy has a special interest in wound care, travel and child immunisations, and allergy testing for adults and children. 

She loves working with her patients hoping to offer them a better quality of life.

Wendy regularly undertakes extra training to broaden her knowledge in medical care.

 

 

Margaret Windsor – Practice Nurse
A registered nurse since 1978, Margaret has spent the past 30 years working between Toowoomba and Brisbane.

She has extensive experience in various nursing situations including theatre, hospitals and medical practices.

In addition to her in-depth nursing experience, Margaret has been a practice manager of a busy medical practice and the director, manager and trainer of a company who trained general practitioners, nurses and staff in the implementation and use of clinical and practice management software.

 

Dianne O'Hara  – Practice Nurse

Dianne was trained at Hornsby-Kuringal Hospital, Sydney and completed her training in 1983. Dianne worked for ten years including one year in the United Kingdom in Intensive Care Unit. Dianne worked for the Accident and Emergency and Medical Unit on a part-time basis for eight years until her family moved to Queensland. Since residing in Queensland she has worked in the specialities of general practice and skin cancer clinics.

 

Monique  – Practice Nurse

Monique is an experienced nurse with over twenty years acute experience including general and surgical nursing, midwifery, radiological and gastroenterology. She returned to live on the Sunshine Coast in 2005 after working in North Queensland for over ten years. Her professional interests include women's health and obstetric nursing and patient and staff education.
